Activities in a session

What will my child actually do?

Activities change with the age group and monthly focus, but the program is built around practical movement, play and challenges rather than children simply standing and listening.

Obstacle Courses

What they do: Move through obstacle course equipment using crawling, balancing, stepping, jumping and controlled movement.

Equipment may include: tunnels, foam stepping stones, mini hurdles, balance equipment and coordination rings.

Develops: movement planning, balance, coordination, strength, confidence and problem-solving.

Running, Jumping & Locomotor Skills

What they do: Run, hop, jump, skip, gallop, crawl, stop, start and practise landing safely through games and challenges.

Equipment may include: cones, agility ladders, mini hurdles and obstacle course equipment.

Develops: body awareness, movement confidence, lower-body coordination, timing and agility.

Balance & Stability Activities

What they do: Balance and move across different surfaces while controlling posture and body position.

Equipment may include: balance beams, foam stepping stones, balance discs and sensory pathways.

Develops: static and dynamic balance, posture, core strength, stability and body control.

Ball & Object-Control Skills

What they do: Throw, catch, roll, kick and strike through age-appropriate ball activities and games.

Equipment may include: bean bags, soft rugby balls, soft medicine balls and coordination rings.

Develops: hand-eye coordination, object control, timing, bilateral coordination and teamwork.

Agility & Quick-Movement Challenges

What they do: Complete energetic movement challenges that encourage quick feet, reactions, changes of direction and movement sequencing.

Equipment may include: agility ladders, mini hurdles and cones.

Develops: agility, speed, reaction time, coordination, footwork and movement accuracy.

Relay Races & Team Activities

What they do: Take part in relay races, group challenges and cooperative games where children work with others toward a shared goal.

Equipment may include: rugby balls, cones, parachute play cloth and obstacle course equipment.

Develops: communication, cooperation, leadership, teamwork and group problem-solving.

Animal Walks & Tunnel Crawls

What they do: Use playful animal-style movement and crawling activities, including moving through tunnels.

Equipment may include: tunnel crawls and obstacle course equipment.

Develops: upper-body strength, bilateral coordination, spatial awareness and whole-body control.

Fitness, Jump Rope & Movement Games

What they do: Play energetic movement games and complete fitness-focused activities using jump ropes, ladders and hurdles.

Equipment may include: jump ropes, agility ladders and mini hurdles.

Develops: cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, rhythm, timing, flexibility and resilience.

Modified Games & Sport Readiness

What they do: Combine running, balance and ball skills in simplified games and sport-style activities as their fundamentals become stronger.

Equipment may include: rugby balls, ladders, hurdles, parachute and other program equipment.

Develops: the ability to combine locomotor, stability and object-control skills in practical situations.

Important: Activities are adapted to the child’s age and ability. No previous sporting experience is required, and the program is designed for children of all abilities.
